This was the first piece I asked Laine to do after I saw her paint a picture of my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary, which happens to be in two days. Happy 50th mom and dad!!!! The attention she gave to details, most notably the shadows on the ball and his rolled up jersey sleeve really impressed me and I knew we were on to something. I shared some pictures of this piece in some of the vintage card groups that I am in and the responses we received were overwhelming. - Kerry View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize This was my favorite name and lettering on a card to paint. I was nervous about the black but I love the velvety coverage that a simple Prang watercolor created. I enjoyed painting this cowboy. -Laine View fullsize I loved everything about this painting. The fact it was a local Razorback made it even better. I enjoy painting from sports cards, but this one was special. I was calling the hogs in my heart as I created it. It was a huge exciting moment to see a photo of the man in the painting beside his painting. Priceless. -Laine View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize After doing a show in Dallas last week, we received several orders for Luka pieces. This is the first one Laine’s completed of what will likely be many different ones in the future. It took me a little while to figure out how to create the marbled look of the helmet, but in the end, it was my favorite part. The new owner in Pennsylvania has plans to get the piece autographed by Ozzie. - Laine View fullsize Growing up in St Louis during the 80’s, I was a huge Ozzie Smith fan. As a baseball card collector, I always wished Ozzie’s rookie card was on the Cardinals, so Laine painted it for me. - Kerry View fullsize One of my favorite players when I was a kid was Jerry Rice. I remember opening a pack of 1986 football cards and getting this card. Once again, Laine captures the brilliant colors, textures, and reflections in this piece. This one turned out great and will be hanging on a wall in Wichita for a long time. View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle is the holiest of holy grail items for vintage collectors. I don’t expect to own the card anytime soon, so instead Laine painted this beautiful piece for me. I love it! - Kerry View fullsize 1933 Goudey Eddie Morgan isn’t exactly the most iconic card out there. However for my client Eddie and his daughter Morgan, it was a perfect fit. This is my second commissioned piece that is now residing peacefully on a wall in Ohio. My favorite part of painting this card was creating the fabric fold of the hat and adding the red lettering on his jersey. - Laine View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize I love the old ABA cards and the Dr J. Rookie card is my favorite one. Here is Laine’s version of the classic card. Once again, capturing the image in all its glory. She affectionately calls is “Squirrels”. - Kerry
